No, it's November Bonnie

Since I am spending so much of my time writing papers for school recently, this is going to be a picture blog because the last thing I want to do right now is formulate coherent sentences.

Elijah and I recently started date night for just us two. Tonight we went to the Melting Pot. It's a fondue restaurant and Elijah had a great time cooking his own food.

Ezra loves to do his "homework" but the interesting thing about his writing is that it is so neat. Scribbles, but neat scribbles.

My Zeeko-lator was Stitch for Halloween this year. It's an Elijah hand me down. Come to think of it, so is this one.......

You know how sometimes you catch a moment in time that says so much? I think this next picture is one of those.....

I LOVE CUPCAKES. And so I have been on a quest to find the perfect one. Although not perfect, these from Georgetown Cupcake were very close.

I just love this next picture. Don't you just want to eat his face?!?!?!

Alright, I'm good till December, right?

It's September???

Holy long time! Took a little blogging break I guess!!

Well let's just jump right in, shall we? Summer flew by and Elijah started 4th grade in his new school in our new county. Let me tell you, it is F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S! He loves his teacher, Mrs. Hutt which is a huge relief for me because neither one of us cared for his 3rd grade teacher. Mrs. Hutt is very kind and provides a nurturing environment for her kids to learn, something Elijah needs. I mention the fact that we are in a new county because I freaking love it here. It's almost like not living on the East Coast at all.

In other news, I started school again. I'm taking a full course load (4 classes). I'm taking all of them online and it's proving a little difficult but I have to make it work so I just suck it up and drive on. I won't bore you with the classes I'm taking. Suffice it to say they're hard and boring. End of story.

So we found out that Zeke is allergic to peanuts. Very scary. I'm too tired to go into the details right now but he has an Epi-Pen and I have become an expert label reader.

Here's some pictures. Seriously, I'm exhausted so I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.

(except this one. Found out he is allergic to dogs too)

I'm baaaaaaack

I don't even know where to begin. How 'bout I just do this chronologically to try to keep all my thoughts from getting mixed together. Ok, good.

Jason and I are proud new homeowners. After all the drama and complications (sooooo don't wanna go there), we closed on the 26th of June. We moved on the 27th with the help of all our wonderful friends (Blair, Julie, Phil, Eric, Karolina, Bailey....I feel like I'm forgetting someone) we were able to get most everything out of the house that Saturday. Now this was no small feat. Keep in mind we had NOTHING packed. We weren't even sure we were moving so why pack? (and J and I are procrastinators) ;) We also had a friend to watch the 2 little ones. Well, actually Jason's friend. Co-worker. Her name is Darcy and she and her husband took on my 2 brats along with her kids for like 12 hours (ok, maybe not that long, but moving seems to take F-O-R-E-V-E-R.) And we didn't even ask, she just kept telling Jason that if we need someone to watch our kids, let her know. So sweet. I had never met her and already I loved this woman. Anyway....so on Sunday Jason shuttled between the new place and the old, trying to get the rest of the junk over here cause we had to be out of the house by 4:00 p.m. the next day. J worked so hard that day, he came home with a huge headache and had to lay down. Never does that, so he was super stressed. So, Monday, it's Kiyomi cleaning time. And boy did I have my work cut out for me. Not only did I have to clean the whole house, I had to pack up the rest of the crapola that was left in the house. I enlisted the help of my favorite Miss E-V-E and we went to town. This woman, I love for real. She is the ultimate friend. She loves my kids('specially Mr. Chunk), babysits my kids, helps me clean and pack, digs up and stores a plant for me, AND she's good friend to me in general.......LOVE HER.) So we are being meticulous in our cleaning cause we only got one chance at this because we had to leave for Washington the next morning. We scrubbed parts of the house that I hadn't cleaned since we moved in. The rubber part on the door of the fridge, behind the fridge (yeah it was gross). I mean, I was white glove inspection ready. So we get done at like 3:57 p.m. All ready. Lets do this. So the Picerne lady shows up......... and doesn't look at anything!!!! Doesn't look in the oven, or the fridge, or the toilet. NOTHING!!!! Ugh.....oh well. So that's all done. Super big stress relief.

So like I said, we were leaving for WA the next morning and had to make sure we did a couple of things with the house first. Actually 2 things. Change the locks and put a dryer vent into the wall (yeah, they didn't do it when they built the house. One of many things they didn't do, but that's another post). So after we got the kids to bed (not easily mind you....Ezra kept saying he wanted to go home :( and Zeeko was freaking out in his crib) we got to work. Anyway, we ended up going to bed around 1 and then got up 3 hours later to get ready for our 6am flight to WA. Not fun.

The flight out wasn't fun but once we got there we could finally relax. So glad it was over. Spending time with the family was nice. The kids had a great time. Ezra followed my mom around outside. She called him her little shadow. Zeeko just ate for 2 weeks straight. Just kidding. Kinda. Elijah had a blast at Great Wolf Lodge. The entire clan went....all 12 of us.

So now we're back and we have alot of work to do but we are loving every minute of it. It's so weird to care so much about a house. Yelling at the babies not to drop their sippies on my floors. I've got Ezra walking around talking about the "hard floors". Well, that's enough for now, Elijah is chomping at the bit to get on the macbook to play his games.

XOXO

Mama Drama

So this is the deal with the house.

We were supposed to close on the 16th and everything was going as planned until the VA appraisal. The VA will only loan you the amount that they say the house is worth. And apparently they are very modest in their appraisals. The guy that did ours said that he estimates the value to be $290,000. Not THAT big a deal since the sellers agreed to lower the price of the home, so instead of mortgaging $310,000 we are mortgaging $296,000. Certainly worked better for us. So we think, problem solved, let's do this thang. BUT WAIT, the appraiser also made a note about the roof trusses, saying they looked "weird", and that he recommends that we have it looked at by a structural engineer. Yeah right. I'm not paying for that. Well USAA demands that all the conditions of the appraiser be met before we can close so there had to be something done. The contractor who built the home and the home inspector both said that that is the way it's supposed to be. So my realtor goes to USAA with 2 letters stating this but since the appraiser said "structural engineer" in his report, that's who had to do it. Crazy. So Long and Foster and the seller paid for the engineer to look at it (it was fine, duh) and now we are moving along again. We are supposed to close on the 26th. But USAA is SOOOOOO busy, they don't know if it can be done by then. So things are super duper hectic now because we are leaving on the 30th for vacation and we think we are moving, but we don't know for sure. If we do move we'll have 3 days to get moved out of this house and moved into the new one. We have to be cleared out of base housing on the 29th (cleaned and all). Add to all that the fact that we haven't done one single bit of packing.....yeah, we're in trouble. I hate not knowing for sure when this is gonna happen. That's the worst part.

Catching up

So it's been a long time since my last posting. So much has gone on regarding the house. So much that it's just too much for me to blog about right now. Maybe in a later post. Suffice it to say that buying a house is a pain in the BUTT.

So Jason's parents were here for about a week earlier this month and it was nice to have them around. They were going to help us pack but since it's all up in the air, we opted to relax and enjoy the company instead.

Jason had his work picnic yesterday afternoon. It was at some park near the Chesapeake and the kids really enjoyed themselves. Since we had two babies back to back, we never really go out and do fun outdoor family stuff. But the boys are bigger now and since we don't have to lug around a bunch of baby junk (especially since Ezra is potty trained! Thanks Mom!) it's alot easier to do things. Here are some pics we took. (quality not that great for a real camera but not bad for my iphone!! Go Apple!)

Ezra loves leaves. Doesn't he look so handsome! :)

On the beach we saw this horseshoe crab (dead of course)! It was fascinating to see one in real life. I need to get out more.

The boys loved throwing rocks into the ocean.

That's it for now. XOXO

Home Inspection

So this morning we had the home inspection and it went GREAT! The inspector said that the house is built very well. Jason and I had concerns about the house being a modular home because we just don't know anything about them. But the inspector said that he actually thinks that pre-fab homes are sturdier than other types of homes. Phew! It was a great day to have the inspection too because it has been raining good here for the last couple of days so if there were gonna be any leaks, he would have seem them. But there wasn't any thank goodness. After seeing the house for the first time since signing the contract, Jason and I are even more stoked about this house. It's funny, the bedrooms don't look as small as I remember them. I think that maybe I was looking at the house with a more critical eye, probably a good thing. I was pretty apprehensive about this house but now all my fears have vanished and I am ready!!! Wish us luck!

Dear Bonnie

So we have the inspection on the house this Wednesday. I'm really curious to know what the inspector is gonna find. I'm gonna see if someone can watch the kids so Jason and I don't have to chase them around the whole time. So is the inspector gonna tell me as he's going along what is wrong with the house? I hope so. Otherwise I'm gonna be hovering over him trying to look at his clipboard.

Now that we are moving I'm going to finally have a garage sale and get rid of all my baby stuff. I didn't want to do it until now cause Picerne has this retarded rule about not being able to do garage sales at our homes and I didn't want to do all the work and then be shut down. But since I'm moving, I don't give a hoot. Hopefully we can make a little money to offset the cost of moving.

Congratulation on your big news....so excited to meet Friyomalyn!!
